TDSP (Transmission Distribution Service Provider) or TDU (Transmission Distribution Utility)

TDSP (Transmission Distribution Service Provider) or TDU (Transmission Distribution Utility) are entities that own and operate the infrastructure used to transmit and distribute electricity in Texas. Regulated by the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT), TDSPs provide access to the grid and maintain electrical equipment. Examples include CenterPoint, ONCOR, Texas-New Mexico Power, AEP North, and AEP Central. They ensure reliable delivery but do not sell electricity directly to consumers.
