Electric Grid

The Electric Grid, officially called the Texas Interconnection, is commonly referred to as “The Grid.” It is a network of interconnected power transmission systems managed by ERCOT (Electric Reliability Council of Texas). The grid operates under the oversight of the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) and is unique in that it is not connected to either the Eastern Interconnection or the Western Electricity Coordinating Council.
