Electric Cooperative (CO-OP)

« Back to Glossary Index

An Electric Cooperative (CO-OP) is a private, non-profit organization that supplies electricity to its members or customers. While most of Texas operates in a competitive electricity market, some CO-OP areas remain non-competitive, where residents do not have the option to choose their Retail Electricity Provider (REP). Because of this, PowerMax Energy cannot not serve homeowners living in CO-OP territories.
